Vanguardia recognised by Design Council for London 2012 Work
Vanguardia are honoured to have been recognised by the Design Council for their work carried out on the London 2012 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The Design Council are an enterprising charity that champions great design. Their work places design at the heart of creating value by stimulating innovation in business and public services, improving our built environment and tackling complex social issues.
Vanguardia provided the detailed sound and acoustic design, sound system commissioning and acoustic completion testing on the London 2012 Olympic Stadium. In the Olympic Velodrome, Vanguardia completed the design and engineering of the complete production sound system for the Games and beyond. This included detailed design, technical assurance and commissioning of the system.
As well as the design and commissioning of The ArcelorMittal Orbit viewing platform sound systems and London 2012 Olympic Park common domain public address system, Vanguardia were appointed by the Olympic Delivery Authority as leading consultants in acoustic and sound system support support onsite for several venues across the Olympic Park for the duration of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Associate Director Mark Murphy collected the award on Vanguardias behalf at the Design Councils Beyond 2012 event, a hub to promote the stories and designers involved in making the Games the success it was and continues to be.
